Day Summary

A day in Lahaina — Maui's most historic town, still recovering from the 2023 wildfire but very much open and worth visiting. Browse the Cannery Mall, walk the ocean restaurant row, swim at Baby Beach, eat at some of the island's most iconic spots, and finish the evening at the waterfront. About 25 minutes from the Westin Nanea.

Lahaina Visitor Note (2026): Historic downtown Front Street remains closed — it's an active construction zone with orange bollards and no-entry signs. Open areas include the Lahaina Cannery Mall, Lahaina Gateway shopping center, and the oceanside restaurant row behind the Cannery Mall. Baby Beach Lahaina has also reopened. Please be respectful of the community still rebuilding.

Calm reef-protected beach — great for swimming and snorkeling. Park and enter on the north side near Mala Ramp. Rebuilding is ongoing nearby so some access roads may be closed — follow signage.

Drive time: ~25 min from Westin Nanea to Lahaina — easy morning departure
Downtown Front Street is CLOSED — orange bollards mark the boundary. Do not attempt to enter the restricted zone
Avoid photographing burned lots or empty areas out of respect for residents still rebuilding
Lahaina Harbor is partially open — Sail Maui runs sunset sails and snorkel tours if you want to add a water activity (book in advance)

This itinerary can flex easily — skip Baby Beach if you'd rather just shop and eat, or flip lunch and the beach
