Standard check-in is 4:00 PM. Luggage storage is available if you arrive early. Valet and self-parking are both on site.
🛒 Grocery Strategy
Hit Costco or Times Supermarket in Lihue on arrival day (Aug 2) — the full kitchen makes it easy and economical to stock up for the week.
🌊 Beach Conditions
Poipu Beach is one of Hawaii's safest beaches for swimming, but check the posted flags daily. The east side of the beach is calmer for snorkeling.
☀️ South Shore Weather
Poipu sits in Kaua'i's sunny south — it's the driest part of the island and typically sunny even when the north is rainy. August is peak season.
🐢 Wildlife
Hawaiian monk seals frequently haul out on Poipu Beach — keep your distance (50 ft required by law). Sea turtles are common at the beach and nearby snorkel spots.
🎫 Activities
Book catamaran tours and the helicopter in advance — they sell out in August. The resort's front desk can also arrange island excursions.
